Final Major Project Exhibition Piece

These are the two pieces i created for my final major project exhibition for college called 'Unexpected'

We all judge someone on our first impressions, its not until we get to know them that we realize out first impressions are not always right. This is something that has always kind of fascinated me and i decided to challenge myself and try and present this through my images. 

After a 2 year photography course, these photographs don't exactly show the height of the skills and techniques i have learnt but to me they are the end of an era and a milestone in my hopefully ever growing photography work. 

Summerset house

Ive been so overwhelmed with my UCAS application and trying to book a holiday with the girls. Now that its all done and over with ive been spending my time being lazy and just trying to relax, hiding away from this freezing weather!

But a highlight of my year so far has to be our college day out to Summerset House and around Covent Gardens. Its such a lovely part of london which i had never been to before.

We officially went there to see the exhibition inside summerset house, but being a college trip we didnt actually go look at it. There was an arranged time in the day for us to go iceskating. Having half of our college class going round an icerink becomes rather amusing. Being pushed over by your friends and dragging others around, it ended up being alot more fun than it sounds.

When we wernt messing around the girls that wernt iceskating offered to take some photographs. Even though i didnt take these photographs i felt like sharing them on my blog just because of how much i enjoyed the day and really makes me appreciate the people around me.

Brands Hatch - Track Day

As part of my college Documentary brief i had to choose an event or theme to document. I was going to the Track Day event at Brands Hatch with my boyfriend and some friends anyway so i decided to document that.

The photographs were taken in black and white film and i processed and printed the film myself, the prints wernt amazing quality but once i scanned them in i edited them to make them look how they are supposed to.

These are a few of my final photographs that were my favourites from the day. I enjoyed my day and i enjoyed the fact of not knowing what photographs i had until i had processed them, some of the images that are below i didnt even realised i had captured that moment.

Whipsnade Zoo

So its been a while since i updated my blog and i felt it was about time to update it with what ive been doing recently.

In November my college class took a trip to Whipsnade Zoo, this is part of our documentary brief and we had to generally photograph the animals and the location.

I found going to the zoo made me feel like a little kid again, getting excited about the little penguins and how big the elephants are.

Fashion Water and Movement

For my fashion water and movement brief i had to create images that showed all three areas.
After my first idea not happening after trying to arrange it 2/3 times, i got my boyfriend and some friends to go outside on their skateboards/bmx's and do some tricks while i photograph.
Simple idea, but i am actually really pleased with the photos, i wanted to create something different and i think i managed that.

Photography work

I really want to become a photographer after college so i am going to use this website to advertise my photos and try and find work. I want to try and find myself some more experience and work before i finish college so that then i am prepared for working as soon as i finish college and hopefully get an idea of what area i want to focus in.

So if anyone on my blog wants any photographs taken, any portraits or events that you would like photographing i would be happy to do it. I have done a range of photographs from my college course and just from personal experience which can be seen on my flickr which i have posted on here.
