Late night drives

I honestly am useless at updating my flickr, blog and facebook page. I have been on holiday twice this month and have hardly been using my camera apart from when I'm working.
On Friday 27th July my family were given the sad news that my Grandad passed away. It was very sudden and it was due to old age as he was 92 years old! My family are coping so well with it but for the first few days I found it difficult to be sat at home because my mind began to wonder and that's when reality would hit me. So after returning home from my boyfriends one night I felt I had to go out and do something, for a while I have wanted to venture to somewhere high up and photograph the town, so I did. The photographs below are not the best quality or interesting, but it was more for me to get out the house and do something I love. It was definitely a challenge to remember what settings to use when doing night time landscapes.
When I realised that end of town wasn't that interesting to photograph and the photos weren't amazing, I relied on good old litchfaktor technique because its easy and fun way to capture the lights.

Final Major Project Exhibition Piece

These are the two pieces i created for my final major project exhibition for college called 'Unexpected'
We all judge someone on our first impressions, its not until we get to know them that we realize out first impressions are not always right. This is something that has always kind of fascinated me and i decided to challenge myself and try and present this through my images.
After a 2 year photography course, these photographs don't exactly show the height of the skills and techniques i have learnt but to me they are the end of an era and a milestone in my hopefully ever growing photography work.

Photoshoot

So i did my first shoot for my Final Major Project yesterday and i am so happy with the images that i quickly edited them and got them up on Facebook and Flickr.
I haven't created the final image or the other shoots yet but i'm sure i'll be uploading them as soon as they are done.
The photographs are of a friend of mine Sarah and her Mk2 Golf, Gunter. There are a few images of her dolled up and a few of her looking casual with her car. This is all linked to my theme for my Final Major Project but these images basically show the different sides to her.
The location of the shoot was a place in wooburn green, my boyfriend suggested it as its a place him and his mates sometimes go skating that's undercover. You can't see much of the location in the images but i thought it was a really cool place to photograph in, there was one or two guys wondering around but they didn't really seem to mind.
These are just some montages i put together on my IPhone but if you want to see them properly and in better quality along with the other photographs have a look on my flickr page :) http://www.flickr.com/photos/alex-beynon/
